They shared their day with a hand full of their best friends who really entered into the spirit of things and made their day very special and our job very easy. Finally, after two cancellations due to dreadful weather, the sun decided to shine for this little lady. What a cutie. Mum chose a lovely bright pink outfit that suited her down to the ground and photographed beautifully. Definitely worth the wait :-)
Following on from my recent post on the fab Green Tree Gallery, I have been asked to be one of the judges for their forthcoming photographic competition. If you feel like having a go, here are the details:

The Green Tree Gallery is this week launching a photographic competition entitled: My Favourite Things… The brief is simple:
Photograph your favourite thing or things.
Photography is a growing art form and in this digital age is becoming far more accessible. New talents are emerging as more people are able to experiment with the art of making pictures without splashing about with chemicals! At the Green Tree Gallery we display the work of several up and coming photographers and we feel it is important to expand on this and encourage those who are finding their way and experimenting with a camera, maybe for the first time.
However the old film methods are also going through a revival. We believe that both forms are equally valid, and would welcome either in our competition. So this is a challenge to both the old pros in their darkrooms, and the new kids at their screens.
The Competition is open to all, with a junior category for Under 16s. All entries will be seen by a panel of judges, and 20 will be chosen for an Exhibition and Sale at The Green Tree Gallery as part of the Arts Gigantic Event from 23rd August to the 14th September 2008. Prizes will be awarded for the winner and runner up in each category.
The competition is open for entries from Thursday 8th May until 5pm on Thursday 3rd July.

These brothers were a pleasure to photograph. Full of life and fun as you should be at that age. The only downside being they supported the wrong football team - everyone knows Arsenal are the best! :-)
For all those who love contemporary art and craft, you must visit the Green Tree Gallery situated in the beautiful surroundings of Borde Hill Gardens near Haywards Heath. I had the pleasure of meeting Jules Middleton (one of the owners and artists) today and over a much needed cup of tea we discussed some of the wonderful work she has on display, ranging from silver jewellery to stunning sculptures, hand made cards to tactile wooden bowls. The gallery will also be holding a number of events in 2008, which will definitely be worth visiting if you get the chance.
We've all just returned from a wonderful family holiday (slightly spoilt by a five hour delay coming home and my tan fading the minute I stepped off the plane!). Our apartment had a bank of shuttered doors that just filtered the most beautiful natural light into the room so I took full advantage and grabbed some shots of the three people I love the most. I know all mums a biased towards their kids and rightly so, but I have been so blessed...
Finally the sun shone and it was off to Nymans Gardens in Handcross for a great shoot with this little boy, who had the most infectious smile ever...
