SUMMER MEADOW

Their father had planted the end of the garden with beautiful meadow flowers. A perfect spot to take some great pictures of these two adorable little girls...

THREE FAVOURITE PICTURES

Below are three pictures from a recent shoot. As much as I love bright colours, the black and white image really reaches out to me. I've added a slight blue tone which I think works really well. The pics were taken with either the 70-200 or 50 - my two favourite lenses at the moment.

BUBBLE CATCHING

I love this picture - bubbles are fantastic! I would personally rate them right up there with some of my other favourite things - balloons, fresh cut flowers, fairy lights, ribbon on parcels, cup cakes with thick icing and smarties on the top, tins of coloured pencils and new notepads (in fact my friends and I have decided that we could live in the Paperchase store quite happily)._mg_1353blog

FAIRY WINGS

I adored this shoot, despite the endless rain. This little girl grabbed her wellie boots and fairy wing (always a great combination) and we headed off to a nearby field to pick flowers for mummy, closely followed by her little brother and the latest addition to the family....

VANITY FAIR

Got together we a few of my favourite other photographers this week to visit the Vanity Fair exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery. What a fantastic display of work and great to review the pictures with other people who are interested in the same subject (hope hubby isn't reading this!) Afterwards we grabbed lunch and then took a few pics of each other in the streets. Here's my favourite one of Stewart Randall trying to look all mean and moody ;-)

WEDDING IN BRIGHTON

Manny and Louise had the most relaxed wedding I have ever been to. A ceremony in the town hall and then down to Brighton beach for a photo shoot. They shared their day with a hand full of their best friends who really entered into the spirit of things and made their day very special and our job very easy. Here are a few shots I took while helping out...

We found a lovely door way that really complimented the bespoke suits that the couple had made by Gresham Blake

Finally!

Finally, after two cancellations due to dreadful weather, the sun decided to shine for this little lady. What a cutie. Mum chose a lovely bright pink outfit that suited her down to the ground and photographed beautifully. Definitely worth the wait :-)

GREEN TREE GALLERY - PHOTOGRAPHIC COMEPTITION

Following on from my recent post on the fab Green Tree Gallery, I have been asked to be one of the judges for their forthcoming photographic competition. If you feel like having a go, here are the details:

Photographic Competition Launch:
The Green Tree Gallery is this week launching a photographic competition entitled: My Favourite Things… The brief is simple:

Photograph your favourite thing or things.

Photography is a growing art form and in this digital age is becoming far more accessible. New talents are emerging as more people are able to experiment with the art of making pictures without splashing about with chemicals! At the Green Tree Gallery we display the work of several up and coming photographers and we feel it is important to expand on this and encourage those who are finding their way and experimenting with a camera, maybe for the first time.

However the old film methods are also going through a revival. We believe that both forms are equally valid, and would welcome either in our competition. So this is a challenge to both the old pros in their darkrooms, and the new kids at their screens.

The Competition is open to all, with a junior category for Under 16s. All entries will be seen by a panel of judges, and 20 will be chosen for an Exhibition and Sale at The Green Tree Gallery as part of the Arts Gigantic Event from 23rd August to the 14th September 2008. Prizes will be awarded for the winner and runner up in each category.

The competition is open for entries from Thursday 8th May until 5pm on Thursday 3rd July.

Entry forms and a list of entry requirements can be picked up from The Green Tree Gallery, from Park Cameras in Burgess Hill or Haywards Heath, or can be downloaded from: www.greentreegallery.co.uk/photocomp.htm
